Welcome to Sportmotive TVR
Sportmotive is a business simply grown out of our enthusiasm for TVR. Our entire experience, knowledge and reputation has been gained by working on and rebuilding these fantastic cars from the ground up. We have established a loyal local customer base of cars from S-Series to Sagaris who return again and again for servicing and general repairs.
We are renowned nationally for our body repairs, paintwork and for our development of parts, upgrades and rebuilds of the Griffith and Chimaera models. We are also experts in TVR chassis repair and replacement. We conduct preventative maintenance, outrigger replacement and full body-off restoration of your existing chassis. Alternatively we can supply and fit a complete new chassis for your Griffith or Chimaera.
Our Experience and Expertise
Over the years we have developed our restoration expertise to keep these cars on the road. We were the first to have a chassis jig made and began making new G/C chassis in 2008 when no one else thought there was a need. From this we developed our “in situ” outrigger replacement which is a jig formed full side outrigger designed to be welded onto the main chassis box sections with the body still in place. This saved many cars from inevitably being scrapped due to the high cost of body off chassis restoration.
We are also deeply invested in the development of the Griffith and Chimaera models and have designed our Evolution chassis that we can equip with the standard engine or a more modern V8 from the GM LS range. This chassis boasts a much more torsionally rigid construction, computer modelled suspension geometry, billet alloy uprights, improved damping and roll stiffness. This allows us to effectively manufacture and supply an as new car.
We pride ourselves on the continued relationships we build with our customers who become our best advocates. We are located near Stoke-on-Trent, just ten minutes from J15 of the M6 and within a few miles of the city’s train station.
Past Projects
At Sportmotive, we have a long track record of successful repairs, resprays, upgrades and restorations. Our aim is always to complete each car to the highest possible standard and this attention to detail is visible in every one of the projects shown here.
We take this approach because it’s the only way of guaranteeing a lasting repair and thus building relationships with our clients that often outlast their current vehicle. For example, a particular feature of fibreglass repair is that any mistakes or short-cuts will eventually become visible if the wrong materials and processes are used even if the respray looks perfect at first. That’s why we take the time to properly repair bodywork using the correct resins and materials. Where necessary we sand back paintwork to the original surface before re-painting and during full repaints all panels are removed and painted separately to achieve the correct finish.
