LS Engine Installation

We have now been installing Chevrolet’s LS V8 engines since 2009, our first install being a rebuilt LS1, we now now only fit brand new crate engines, LS3 LSA and the new LT range with horse power outputs from 430 up to 700.

We have developed many bespoke installation parts including engine and gearbox mounts which fit to the original chassis pick up points, tubular stainless steel exhaust manifolds, billet alloy remote oil filter take off, and billet alloy brackets to carry alternator and power steering pump. In addition we now install a larger 57mm core radiator, alloy header tank and expansion tank to give the engine the correct coolant capacity and the correct flow of coolant through the radiator and heater system. Plus a new induction system featuring an alloy filter box and 100mm intake tube and a calculated size air filter to give a much improved free flowing system to maintain the correct amount of air going into the engine.

We have experience of fitting a variety of gearboxes, the TKO600 5 speed, the TR6060 as used in many of the latest GM production cars and the ultimate T56 Magnum 700. We have also developed a range of gearbox mounts and prop shafts for the various gearboxes.

We are constantly improving and updating our conversion and developing it alongside our new Evolution chassis. Current projects cars include an LS3 430, an LS3 480 an LSA Supercharged 6.2 625hp and an LT4 650hp powered car

We can supply and install a complete package, drive in drive out service or we can supply the installation kit for you to source and install your own new or second hand engine. We can even take your old engine in part exchange or sell it for you on your behalf. Some guide prices are shown below and a complete drive-in/drive-out installation including all parts ranges from £18k to £25k depending on gearbox and other options. All prices are plus VAT.

Here’s what GM say about the LS3

“Starting with the ’08 Corvette, the world was first introduced to GM’s latest small block V8 creation, the 6.2-litre LS3. A continuation of the industry leading V8 engines from GM Powertrain, the LS3 kicks out 480 bhp and 475 lb.-ft. of torque. The LS series of engines have broken new ground for efficiency and performance from a pushrod platform engine.

The LS3 continues the engineering breakthroughs with revised cylinder heads featuring rectangle ports borrowed from the vaunted LS7 Engine . The heads feature 68 cc combustion chambers, 2.16-inch intake valves, and 1.59-inch exhaust valves. The camshaft features an aggressive .551-inches of lift on the intake side with less overlap (than the LS2) for even greater airflow and power. Rocker arms with a 1.7:1 ratio sit on top of the heads. In the bottom end, the aluminum 6-bolts/main block features 4.06-inch bores and 3.62-inch stroke. A nodular iron crankshaft, powdered metal rods, and aluminum pistons (10.7:1 compression ratio) round out a rev-happy short block.

Red line for the LS3 comes at 6600 rpm, and you will get there very quickly. With a high-tech GM foundation, aluminum block, and high flowing rectangular-port heads, the LS3 is the new standard in the small block world. The LS3 helps power the new Corvette to a top speed of 190 mph.”
